I love experimenting with used materials and multiple mediums when creating my abstract work. I use alternative tools such as wood reeds and droppers to create organic textures, and let each piece come together in layers.
All canvases are on their second, third, or fourth life. I try to avoid buying art supplies new, and instead re-use abandoned material from local art studios. I often skip gesso, because I enjoy seeing little hints of the previous work show through, either in buried texture or bits of revealed color.
